Artist Statement:
In search of matter-of-fact approaches to painting, I want to remove some of the preciousness and exclusiveness out of the history of the practice.  I began this research with paint and recently have chosen a different material.  The tradition of rug hooking offers another, different set of expectations and limitations.  When making anything, I prefer for the material to lead.
