About the Artist

Megan Van Deusen attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina in Asheville in 2009, and her Masters of Fine Arts from Georgia State University in 2014. Megan's work has been included in multiple exhibitions of the New York City art collective, Blood Dumpster Inc., and she has exhibited throughout the southeast including exhibitions at the William King Regional Arts Center of Abingdon, VA and Theatre Art Galleries of High Point, NC. Megan was selected to receive the Doris P. Deal Fund for Emerging Artists, and the Regional Artist Project Grant through the Asheville Area Arts Council. In 2011, her art was selected for the cover of the 2011 edition of WeDesign Atlanta’s publication, Form.

Megan lives and works in Atlanta, GA. Her current work explores the significance of caretaking and caretaker-ship in human nature through diverse methodologies and materials including painting, video, sculpture and social engagement.
