My name is Kaitlyn Ashe Flint and I am a fifth year senior double majoring in New Media and Art. I chose to take on the Art major because I was only five classes short of it and felt that I had come too far in my academic career not to pursue it. My work is based on an interest in nature and animals and how we interact with our environment. In my early work in ceramics three, I explored animal anatomy and developed my hand building skills. I chose to go in the direction of working with animals and the environment because they are a huge part of my life. I believe that we should be doing everything in our power to protect our planet and the animals that live on it. We should treat our planet as though it is shattering in our hands and that we should take care to stop harmful environmental practices and make an effort to reduce our environmental footprint.—Kaitlyn Ashe Flint, April 2018.
