Artist's Statement: These thrown, altered, and assembled vessels are modern constructions of romanticized memories of pressed glass heirlooms I was enchanted by in my childhood. Our consciousness has a certain way of exaggerating the grandeur of things as we try to reconstruct a remembrance. Heirlooms become treasured objects because they are intrinsically valuable; they possess a certain visceral quality that connects us with our most intimate memories. The pastel pallet and flowing forms reflect the tenderness and ephemeral nature of my personal memories. —Julie Lee
