BFA senior ceramics student selected for national exhibition

Jacob Wilson's ceramics sculpture, American Dream, been selected for the 2016 NCECA National Student Juried Exhibition to be held at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center, March 4-April 30, 2016, in conjunction with the NCECA 50th Anniversary Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, March 16-19, 2016. UPDATED: Jake was awarded second place for undergraduates!

The response to the call for entries was strong, with over 600 works (by 229 artists) offered for consideration. The jurors, Liz Quackenbush and Lee Somers, selected 61 pieces by 56 artists for the exhibition; 36 graduate students, 16 undergraduates and four post-baccalaureates. 

The jurors will choose cash and gift certificate awards for artistic excellence. This portion of the jurying process will take place at the gallery after the work has been installed. The awards will be announced at both the artist reception on Thursday, March 17, and at the second Member Business Meeting on Saturday, March 19, 2016.
