Scott Lowrey received degrees from Indiana University and The University of North Carolina Asheville. He has apprenticed in painting conservation with The International Fine Arts Conservancy. He teaches drawing and painting. He is an Associate Professor of Art at Mars Hill College and has taught drawing, pastel, and photography courses in Florence, Italy; Volcano, Hawaii; Austin Peay State University; and Warren Wilson College.
Selected exhibitions include, Un Segno Per La Pace, Museo di Murlo, Pistoia, Italy; The Modern Spirit, The Accademia d’Arte Dino Scalabrino, Montecatini Terme, Italy; Contemporary Western North Carolina Works on Paper, Asheville Art Museum; and the National Printmaking Invitational, McNeese State University, Lake Charles, LA. His work is in numerous collections including The Asheville Art Museum, Furman University, Craven County Arts Council, and The Biltmore Estate.
