Artist talk by John Oles: March 8, 5:00–6:00 p.m. Owen Hall 237

The student association Art Front will accept entries for the 46th Annual Juried Student Exhibition on March 4 and 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day, in the hallway outside S. Tucker Cooke Gallery.  Entry fee is $5.00 per submission with no limit on number of submissions. Any registered UNC Asheville student working in any medium may submit their work.

All 2-D work must be ready to hang, including wires (no saw-tooth hangers). Photographs, drawings, prints, etc., must be matted and framed.  Paintings must be framed or have sides painted.

All 3-D work must be identified as hanging, freestanding, or on pedestal. Students will be responsible for installing any accepted 3-D installation or assemblage on Thursday, March 7.

Installations: Proposals should include a written description (maxiumum 300 words) in conjunction with video or photographic documention that follows the digital guidelines mentioned below. If accepted, students are responsible for installing their installtions on Thursday, March 7.

Digital Art Guidelines: Submissions must be on DVD and playable on Macintosh platofrm.  The artist must provide computers, projectors, or any necessary hardware required. All Flash submissions must include an FLA, SWF and a Macintosh Projector; i.e., must include all sound files and all fonts must be outlined. All Audio submissions must include an uncompressed AIF or WAV; i.e., all video submissions must be Quicktime MOV file, maximum size of digital stills for documention purposes is 1080 x 720 pixels.

Both the artist talk and the exhibition are open to the public free of charge.
