Alumnus Skip Rohde Opens "Faces of Afghanistan" Exhibition
Skip Rohde (Class of 2003, BFA with a concentration in painting) has returned from his assignment in Kandahar Province, southern Afghanistan, as an advisor with the US State Department helping the leadership of Afghanistan at the tribal and regional levels. While he was there, he many produced sketches and drawings of landscapes and portraits. For this exhibition, Skip has selected 47 drawings and pastels of people from many facets of Afghan life. An opening reception for the exhibition, "Faces of Afghanistan," will be held on October 26, in the S. Tucker Cooke Gallery, Owen Hall, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. The exhibition will continue through November 27, 2012. Gallery Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (closed November 21-23 for Thanksgiving break). The exhibition is free of charge and open to the public.
